A Collaborative Project with Jennifer McMahon (IRL) & Jelena Soro (SI/CS)
Witches, Bitches & Goddesses is set to announce the release of their debut self- titled album for Spring 2025. The album, which features 8 tracks, is an electronic-driven, vocal focused devotional offering to the divine feminine. WBG explores the concepts and narratives of female archetypes in Slavic and Celtic mythology, transmuting old stories into new. It is a reflection of the personal and artistic development of the collaborators, through the lenses of their individual cultural heritage.
In 2024, WBG received funding from Culture Moves Europe to support Jennifer’s mobility to Ljubljana for the purpose of recording the project. The album was recorded at Railroad Studios, engineered by Dorotea Nikolic, mixed by Jennifer McMahon and mastered by Liz Teutsch.
This project was made possible through an artist residency offered to Jennifer by JSKD, Ljubljana in February 2023. Over the course of one month, the each track was written and produced for live performance. Its live debut took place at Ljubljana’s city museum to a sold out audience and was featured in the national newspaper, DELO. The next public performance of the project would take place in Dublin, Ireland upon invitation from The Dublin Jazz Co-op in October 2023. The premiere of the work in Ireland, it was supported by the Slovenian Embassy in Ireland and the Ministry of Culture in Slovenia.
Jennifer and Jelena began working together back in 2016, during their Masters studies at Berklee College of Music and developed an artistic connection collaborating on each other’s albums since.
